Uoft’s Students Against Muliplte Scoliosis (SAMS) is a student-led initiative dedicated to understanding and addressing Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic autoimmune disease that impacts the lives of millions worldwide. SAMS’s mission is to raise awareness, educate and provide support for those battling with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We aim to build an inclusive environment that allows UofT students to learn about MS, advancements in immunology, and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, we want to connect beyond our campus by supporting MS research, fostering partnerships with professionals and community outreach.
Our 3 Pillars: Awareness, Support, Research:
- Awareness: Our association will strive to increase understanding and knowledge of MS within the UofT community and beyond our campus walls. We will spread awareness through educational exploration, student inquiry, discussions with those affected and professionals in the field of research.
- Support: We are committed to advocating for individuals battling with MS by running community initiatives, organizing outreach events and creating meaningful partnerships with leading organizations. We will provide resources and fundraise to offer support for those affected by MS.
- Research: At the core of our mission, SAMS will work to further advance the scientific understanding and solutions for MS. Our association will foster hands-on learning, research and literature discussions for members. We aim to help advance the growing knowledge of MS and provide solutions for those affected.
