University of Toronto Bioengineering Innovation and Outreach in Consulting Club (UT BIONIC)
St George
UT BIONIC is a volunteer-based bioengineering consulting team at the University of Toronto, dedicated to designing and donating accessible medical devices such as prosthetics and writing aids to individuals in need. This club aims to eliminate cost as a barrier for people in the community by collaborating with organizations like e-NABLE and Makers Making Change to connect with recipients and create tailored solutions. The club offers students hands-on experience in the bioengineering field through short-term projects focused on 3D printing, prototyping, and manufacturing. Members can also get help to access MYFab training, and develop technical skills in CAD design, programming, and other key areas. With a dynamic team structure, project leads change with each cycle, allowing members to explore different aspects of bioengineering and undergraduate students to get leadership roles while making a tangible impact in the lives of others.
