Horizons in Education, Leading Interdisciplinary eXploration (HELIX) St George

University of Toronto’s Horizons in Education, Leading Interdisciplinary eXploration (HELIX) focuses on supporting students in their academic and professional development by integrating elements across the four branches of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) to address challenges in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, sustainability, and modern infrastructure.

HELIX achieves this mission through a range of student-focused initiatives, including interactive workshops, speaker panels, and case-based learning sessions that encourage hands-on engagement with real-world problems. In addition to these events, the club offers mentorship opportunities that connect students with peers and upper-year mentors for academic guidance, skill development, and support in navigating STEM pathways. These experiences are designed to strengthen both technical understanding and collaborative problem-solving skills in an applied, interdisciplinary setting.

Overall, HELIX is more than just a club — it is a growing interdisciplinary community where students can learn, connect, and develop the skills needed to think critically about complex global problems and contribute to innovative solutions.
