Studio Dissonance: UofT Branch is a student collective rooted in the diasporic experience of Chinese-speaking students who carry with them questions of history, identity, and dissent. We are part of a broader constellation of communities that seek to reckon with silenced narratives and contested legacies through conversation, culture, and critical reflection.

Our gatherings—ranging from reading circles and documentary screenings to public forums and community dialogues—create space for exploring alternative visions of Chinese reality. We welcome those who are navigating displacement, disillusionment, or simply a desire to ask difficult questions. We are not here to offer answers, but to think together, across difference, toward something more just.
