amera, Stage, Lights: Prepare a 1-5 minute monologue of your choice. UTC does not provide any props or costumes. Each student is allowed 20 minutes on the stage, including prep and wrap up time. Your performance will be recorded using a professional camera and shared with you in a timely matter. Recommendation: Choose a lively, contemporary monologue and project your voice. Focus on facial and body movements, make eye contact with the audience (camera). Take up the space on the stage and use different levels. Avoid using costumes and props that may distract casting agents from your performance. Rehearse as much as possible, step on the stage as prepared as possible. Remember, as an actor, you may not get a chance of “retakes” or calling line while on stage. If you have further questions/concerns of accessibility needs please email us. Good luck, see you on November 4th. Due to limited availability, we are able to work with the first 6 students who arrive on site with a prepared monologue.
Are dual dialogues allowed? Yes. You may prepare a scene with a peer, however you will still have 20 minutes on the stage.
