Your Brain as a Statistician: The Benefits of Ensemble Processing to Visual Perception and CognitionUTSC

March 15, 2023 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

I see another SYNAPSE Seminar coming up! Dr. Jonathan Cant, a UTSC professor, will be hosting a seminar on the benefits of ensemble processing to visual perception and cognition!Dr. Jonathan Cant’s research focuses on how we perceive the complex visual world around us. More specifically, he focuses on how the human brain accomplishes specific biologically relevant visual tasks, ranging from how we perceive single objects to how our brain processes entire visual scenes using neuroimaging and psychophysical behavioural techniques. A primary goal in his lab is to explore the functional organization of the high-level human visual cortex, with a specific focus on the ventral stream of visual processing, a cortical pathway involved in visual perception and identification.
