Art Restoration and Conservation Club (ARCC) St George

The Art Conservation & Restoration Club (ARCC) is a welcoming, student-led community for anyone curious about how artworks and cultural objects are cared for, preserved, and restored. We bring together students from all programs to explore the hands-on, scientific, and creative sides of conservation in an accessible, supportive environment.

ARCC hosts DIY-level restoration workshops with objects from various sources (second-hand shop artworks, discarded objects, and anything else we believe is worth being restored/preserved). We also hold guest talks with conservators, and visits to conservation labs at museums and galleries across Toronto. Whether your background is in art history, chemistry, museum studies, or you’re simply interested in learning something new, the club offers a space to experiment, ask questions, and connect with others who share an interest in collections care.

Our goal is to raise awareness of conservation practice, share skills, and build a community of students who enjoy discovering how art and materials can be understood through both craft and knowledge.

Everyone is welcome. No experience needed.
