As educators and advocates, we recognize the challenges faced by students with autism within the traditional educational systems. Outside and inside the classroom, many students struggle to access specialized resources. The Autism Educational Support Club is dedicated to bridging this gap by offering 1:1 weekly educational sessions for students with autism that not only address academic needs, but also promote confidence and independence. Every member of our UofT based-volunteer group is paired with a student to consistently provide these services throughout the school year. Our model facilitates our volunteer tutors to learn about their paired student and ultimately develop meaningful peer-mentor relationships that have a lasting impact on both individuals. Please email us if you would like to volunteer as a tutor!
