AutoFocus (ATFC) St George

AutoFocus (ATFC)

Introduction:
The AutoFocus (ATFC) is an organization composed of photography and short film production enthusiasts. Our mission is to enhance members’ skills in photography, short film production, and automotive culture through shared interests and activities. Our goal is to provide a platform for learning and exchange, sharing experiences and techniques, inspiring creativity, and improving technical skills, while fostering friendship and teamwork among members.

Main Activities:

  1. Photography Lectures: We invite professional photographers to give specialized lectures, sharing their photography experiences and techniques. We also invite professional photographers from A1 Toronto Studio to share their experiences in events and commercial projects.
  2. Workshops: We conduct hands-on workshops and practical activities to help members improve their photography and short film production skills. Our club president has extensive photography experience, ranging from recreational photography from 2013-2015 (using the Sony CyberShot DSC-TX30 and Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 to document life), to amateur photography from 2015-2020 (using the Canon EOS 70D for student council work), to semi-professional photography from 2020-2024 (using the Canon EOS R for personal commercial shoots). His experiences will provide valuable guidance to our members. Portfolio link: https://www.patreon.com/blissfish
  3. Automotive Culture: We organize activities related to automotive culture, including photography and short film production, to document and showcase the diversity of automotive culture. Through visits and practical experiences, members can appreciate German, Japanese, and American car cultures, including vintage car appreciation and modern car modifications.
  4. Outdoor Photography Activities: We regularly organize outdoor photography activities, exploring various shooting themes and scenes, such as natural landscapes (e.g., flower fields, lakes), convention photography (e.g., FAN EXPO Canada), car shows (e.g., Canadian International AutoShow), architectural photography (e.g., Casa Loma), and macro photography of vintage items, helping members apply what they have learned.
  5. Photography and Short Film Competitions: We host internal and short film competitions and encourage members to participate in regional photography competitions and exhibitions, such as IconicToronto, motivating members to showcase their work and learn from each other.
  6. Post-Production: We provide a post-production exchange platform to help members with issues in photo and video editing and processing, sharing post-production techniques.

Reasons for Application:

  1. Benefits to the School: By having members participate in regional photography and short film competitions and exhibitions (e.g., IconicToronto), we can showcase the school’s talent and creativity, enhancing its reputation in the community and among the public. AFPGC enriches campus culture through various activities and exhibitions, promoting diverse student development. The club activities offer a platform for students to exchange and collaborate, enhancing student interaction and friendship and strengthening campus cohesion.
  2. Benefits to Members: We aim to improve members’ skills and knowledge in photography and short film production through various lectures and workshops. Rich outdoor activities and competitions provide practical opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge and gain experience. Photography and short film competitions allow members to showcase their talents, and gain recognition, and encouragement. Club activities foster friendship and cooperation among members, creating a harmonious team environment.

Our Expectations:

  • Passion: A passion for photography, short film production, and automotive culture, with a willingness to continually learn and improve.
  • Collaboration: A willingness to participate in team activities and collaborate with other members.
  • Sharing: A willingness to share personal experiences and works, helping others to improve.

We believe that by establishing the AutoFocus Photography Club (AFPGC), we can provide enthusiasts with an ideal platform, promoting personal growth and the overall development of the club. We hope to receive approval to formally establish our club.
