University of Toronto Beekeeping Enthusiast Education Society (UofT BEES) St George

U of T BEES brings together students and community members who share a commitment to understanding and supporting local pollinators. On the St. George campus, we maintain one of the few spaces where anyone can get hands-on experience with sustainable urban beekeeping and learn about the ecological responsibilities that come with keeping honeybees in a complex urban ecosystem.

Our mission is to help students appreciate the vital role native pollinators play in maintaining healthy environments, while also giving them the chance to participate in the centuries-old craft of beekeeping. Through workshops, hive visits, and community outreach, we empower members to take informed action that supports native species. By engaging with U of T BEES, students gain a meaningful connection to nature, urban sustainability, and the living systems that shape our city
