ETC Investment Group is the largest systematic investment club at the University of Toronto. We intend to build a community that will bridge industry professionals and academia, offering research capacity in quantitative finance, global macro and industry equity. We hope our members learn from each other and encourage one another, to become better analysts, researchers and investors in the financial markets.

Our members, who come from diverse academic backgrounds in finance, mathematics, computer science, statistics, economics, and engineering, regularly publish industry research reports and market commentary reflecting our analysis of various industry verticals and observations of the financial markets. To advance our understanding of quantitative finance, we also take a hands-on approach, working along with researchers and professionals, conducting projects such as factor investing frameworks, portfolio optimization algorithms and ML-based market predictions.

Additionally, we host annual asset management conferences, speaker series and academic seminar that soldify our understanding of equity strategies, industry trend and macroeconomics outlook, focusing not only on North American markets but also European and emerging markets. This year, we are collaborating with Risklab to deliver the largest hackthon and case competition in the area of sustainable finance, encourage members to take quantitative techniques and qualitative tools to tackle the global problems of climate risk.
