Girls in Med is a volunteer organisation providing free STEM tutoring services to girls around the world in the hopes of mitigating disparities in women and youth. Some other services include shedding light on medical opportunities and resources, planning free workshops for students, and spreading awareness about underrepresented illnesses through social media and our podcast. Girls in Med UTSG Student Chapter, a division of Girls in Med, wishes to continue supporting this mission of providing STEM resources to girls at the University of Toronto through events and opportunities. These include workshops with guest speakers or organisations and networking, opportunities to organise important events like an upcoming research conference, opportunities to be involved with Girls in Med’s podcast, lessons about underrepresented illnesses, and club socials.
