iGEM Toronto is an interdisciplinary team that identifies problems in our community, proposes a synthetic biology-based solution, and executes it to the best of our ability. The purpose, objectives, mission and mandate of the organization are to represent the University of Toronto iGEM team and compete at the annual iGEM Jamboree; provide students with opportunities to gain scientific research, and leadership experience, and engage in community outreach activities; and promote public awareness of synthetic biology and the ethical implications of biological engineering.
