Musicians at Your Door (MYD) is a student-run group at the University of Toronto (UTSG campus) that focuses on providing musical performances for individuals who may otherwise not have access to. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, MYD provided two concerts/month for elderly citizens residing in retirement homes around our campus. We have since moved on to an online format through YouTube in order to continue to provide accessible musical performances (now to both hospital patients and elderly residents across multiple retirement homes).

MYD club activities will follow guidelines from the University of Toronto and senior homes/hospitals we volunteer at. We aim to hold monthly concerts, either online as videos premiered and posted on YouTube, or as in-person performances at senior homes and hospitals around the St. George campus following the UofT’s policies and senior home/hospital’s policies. For online concerts, musicians will only be required to record themselves and submit the recording. For musicians who satisfy membership requirements (described below), we have Multimedia Editors who provide free editing to put together parts for ensembles which recorded separately. They will then compile the performances into one video. There are three types of members with a different set of requirements (2020-2021 requirements below and at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15dQ8ooj-WdeCGLCTpzZ1yactCyzINNjb/ + recording guidelines: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HbBp8jeNjCSOwb_nHRxAaFhfAAfIijF6/):

1. Casual Members: no minimum commitment; perform as much (or as little) as you like. If you need help with video editing/sound mixing, you can attend our workshops and ask for advice. Casual members may be considered for group placement after CCR and general members, and are NOT eligible for free editing from our multimedia editors. Sign-up is open year-round.

2. General Members: perform at least 15 minutes throughout the year (maximum 10 min per month). General members are eligible for free editing from our multimedia editors. Deadline to sign up each school year is early February.

3. CCR Members (only applicable to U of T students): If you wish to be recognized by CCR (the Co-Curricular Record), perform at least 25 minutes throughout the year (maximum 10 min per month). CCR members are eligible for free editing from our multimedia editors. Deadline to sign up for each school year is early January.
