New Majority is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to mobilizing young voters. Our mission is to engage students in the democratic process and ensure that every voice is heard. Voting is essential for shaping our future and addressing the issues that impact our communities. In 2021, only 47% of eligible Canadian voters aged 18-24 participated in elections, while 75% of Canadians aged 65-74 casted their votes. This striking disparity underscores the urgent need to engage and support young voters, who hold the power to influence significant change in our society.
The University of Toronto student chapter of New Majority is committed to rallying enthusiastic students to support our efforts and mobilize young voters both on campus and across Canada. Through phone-banking and canvassing campaigns, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of voter turnout and help youth develop effective voting plans.
