The mission of Northern Justice Watch – UTM (NJW – UTM) is to challenge the impunity associated with atrocity crimes, and to uphold the human rights and freedoms of victims across the world. We are dedicated to bringing their stories to light and challenging the unaccountability that plagues many oppressive regimes.
We aim to respond to global human rights violations, and our mission encapsulates a clear, present commitment: No crime against humanity should go unnoticed or unchallenged. In this regard, we believe that university campuses should be an integral part of this intellectual education and awareness process.
We aim to achieve these goals by organizing events such as workshops and conferences, by advocacy, and of course, by raising awareness. We will be organizing these workshops, conferences and panels in order to educate fellow university students and members about crimes against humanity, shed light on some of the stories, have intellectually stimulating discussions, and raise awareness about the importance of promoting accountability. Our club’s objectives are aligned with values and policies of the University of Toronto to ensure compliance and integration into the university community
