Scleroderma United club at UTSC (SUUTSC) is a student-led organization dedicated to raising awareness, education, and funding for scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that affects thousands of people across Canada and globally. Established by a passionate group of students who’s working closely with Scleroderma United, SUUTSC aims to create a supportive community within the University of Toronto Scarborough campus that informs and educates about scleroderma, its impacts, and the ongoing research efforts to find a cure. By organizing fundraising events, educational workshops, and awareness campaigns, SUUTSC strives to enhance the educational, recreational, social, and cultural environment of the campus, while adhering to a non-profit model that fundamentally serves to benefit scleroderma patients and research initiatives. Membership is open to all within the university community who are interested in contributing to this cause, offering a platform for advocacy, volunteerism, and leadership in the fight against scleroderma. Through its activities, SUUTSC not only raises crucial funds for research and support but also fosters a greater understanding of autoimmune diseases, promoting inclusivity, empathy, and community engagement on campus and beyond.
