Society for Conservation Biology, University of Toronto Scarborough Chapter (SCB UTSC) UTSC

The Society for Conservation Biology UTSC chapter (SCB UTSC) is a regional chapter of the international Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating, promoting, and advancing the scientific study and conservation of biological diversity. SCB UTSC shares these objectives and upholds SCB’s values of: 1) professional excellence in conservation science; 2) diversity, equity, and inclusion in addressing global challenges to the maintenance of biodiversity; and, 3) cooperation and partnerships within and beyond the conservation science community. SCB UTSC focuses on fostering collaboration between the UTSC and broader conservation community, specifically with respect to promoting awareness of and involvement in local conservation issues and by facilitating professional development opportunities among academics and professionals in conservation biology.
