The purpose, objectives, mission and/or mandate of the organization is to create a new student association at UTSC that will specialize in English literature from 1660 to 1800. It will be called The Scriblerus Club, and will focus on writers during this time period, such as Alexander Pope, Jonathan Swift and some of the other influential authors of the era. This association aims to give the UTSC community a chance to learn about the beauty of Restoration poetry and 18th-century literature as well as to provide students with an option to publish their work from this literary period by means of an academic journal.
