United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund: University of Toronto Student Chapter (UNICEF) St George

U of T UNICEF, a university group directly affiliated with UNICEF Canada, strives to raise funds and promote awareness of issues such as child labour, poverty, gender inequality, illiteracy, HIV/AIDS, and living environment. We operate through our two programs to target both the university community and local youth.

1. University Outreach Program – To host fundraising and education events, to provide opportunities for service in the Toronto region, and to promote awareness of UNICEF as a global organization and its endeavors.

2. Youth Engagement Program – To build a global citizen persona in children at local community centres, and boys and girls clubs by teaching them a UNICEF-based curriculum. Children will be taught about important children’s rights issues worldwide such as those regarding education, health and gender equality.

We are looking for dedicated members to help make a difference on a local as well as international stage. In addition, volunteer hours will be recorded and certified at the end of the year. If you are interesting in getting involved, contact for more details.
