The University of Toronto Interdisciplinary Transplantation Student Group (UITSG) is a graduate student-led initiative dedicated to fostering the next generation of transplant researchers, clinicians, and advocates by engaging undergraduate students in the dynamic field of transplantation science. Our purpose is to educate undergraduates on the scientific, clinical, and ethical foundations of organ transplantation; connect them with research labs, graduate mentors, clinical leaders, and transplant recipients; and promote awareness and advocacy for organ donation. Through workshops, project-based mentorship, and collaborations, we aim to equip students with the technical, analytical, and collaborative skills needed to contribute meaningfully to interdisciplinary transplant research. By bridging academic learning with real-world impact, we aim to build an inclusive and informed community that drives innovation and equity in transplant science.
