At the UofT Mapping Club, we are a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to the creation of open-source geospatial data on OpenStreetMap. Our mission goes beyond maps; we believe in the power of mapping to make a real-world impact. Here’s what we’re all about:
Our Mission: We map with a purpose. Our work directly benefits humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross and Médecins Sans Frontières. Through mapping, we contribute to vital development initiatives such as improving access to healthcare and strengthening disaster prevention planning.
Collaboration is Key: We operate as a united force, working collaboratively in teams. Whether we’re updating maps with new information or filling in missing areas, we believe in the strength of collective efforts.
Putting Communities on the Map: Our ultimate goal is to ensure no community is left uncharted. We’re on a mission to spotlight underrepresented areas and create a diverse community of students who share our vision.
Global Connections: As a chapter of the global Youthmappers association, we’re part of a network of passionate individuals worldwide. We also proudly support the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team and are active contributors to the Missing Maps Initiative.
No Experience Needed: You don’t need prior mapping experience to join us! OpenStreetMap is designed to be accessible to everyone who shares an interest in making a difference through mapping.
If you’re ready to make an impact, get involved, and be a part of our mapping community, we welcome you with open arms. Join us today!
