UTM Model Parliament UTM

The UTM Model Parliament Club (MPC) was founded in January 2025. After a successful winter semester, the club will be expanding its programming to provide students with a diversity of events and educational experiences. We encourage and welcome all UofT students interested in learning about the role politics plays in our society to become members! We are excited to announce that the MPC will be offering four different program streams that students can participate in.

Through the General Program Stream the MPC will promote career and program opportunities for students, organize trips to political career-related facilities, and facilitate guest speaker events.

Through the Educational Simulation Stream the MPC will run a mock simulation of provincial parliament, host policy debates, and a Policython competition.

Through the Mentorship Stream, first and second-year students will have the opportunity to attend mentorship events hosted by upper-year students to develop the skills to excel with political science related programs at UofT. Through the Journalism Stream, students can obtain recognition for writing an article about a topic of their choice related to politics at the municipal, provincial, federal, or international level. The articles will be shared with registered club members.
