The UTSC Falun Dafa Club aims to provide an open environment for anyone at U of T to freely practice Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong).
Falun Dafa is an ancient mind-body practice centered on the principles of Truthfulness “真” (zhen), Compassion “善” (shan), and “Tolerance “忍” (ren). Combined with 5 gentle exercises, practitioners of Falun Dafa are able to gain a peaceful state of mind, stress-relief, and consequently a healthier body. The teachings of Falun Dafa can be found free-of-charge at falundafa.org, and anyone is free to practice without any obligations.
Regular activities of the Falun Dafa Club include weekly exercises and periodic experience-sharing sessions. Additionally, as Falun Dafa has deep connections with traditional Chinese culture, we host cultural events such as performance outings to introduce this rich heritage. Anyone is welcome to join our sessions regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious background, political beliefs, etc. Participation in all of our activities is on a voluntary basis and free of charge.
Falun Dafa is practiced freely by millions in over 150 countries. However, Falun Gong has been experiencing ongoing persecution by the ruling Communist Party in China since 1999; millions are imprisoned for up to 16 years. More information about the persecution can be found here.
