Women in International Security St George

Women in International Security (WIIS) is a dynamic, non-profit political organization dedicated to advancing women’s leadership and gender equality in the fields of security and defense. WIIS challenges the traditional boundaries of these fields by promoting a more inclusive approach that values diverse perspectives and fosters community among women professionals. Our mission is to create spaces where women can explore security as a broad practice that encompasses policy, strategy, advocacy, and education, and learn more about the field of international security.

WIIS supports women in their professional journeys through a range of initiatives, including mentorship programs, professional development workshops, and networking opportunities. We provide a platform for women to share their expertise, engage in policy discussions, and contribute to decision-making processes in international security. By participating in WIIS, members gain access to resources that help them enhance their skills, advance their careers, and influence the future of security and defense. WIIS has direct connections with well-known organizations such as NATO Association Of Canada, The Royal Military Institute, and many more.

Our advocacy efforts are centered on promoting gender equality in the security and defense sectors by advancing policies that value and incorporate women’s unique perspectives. We are dedicated to dismantling barriers and challenging existing norms to ensure that women are included in all levels of decision-making. Through our research initiatives, we explore the critical intersections of gender and security, fostering innovative approaches and underscoring the essential contributions women make in shaping global security strategies.

WIIS is more than just a professional network; it is a vibrant, inclusive community where women are encouraged to grow, lead, and empower one another. By joining WIIS, you become part of a collective effort to build a more inclusive and equitable future in international security. Together, we work to create a world where women’s voices are heard, their contributions are valued, and their leadership is celebrated. Join us in our mission to empower the next generation of women leaders and drive meaningful change in the field of security and defense.

Join us to be part of a transformative journey, fostering a more inclusive and equitable landscape for future leaders in international security.
