Our club WSIO (Women in Scientific Innovation and Outreach) aims to solve real-world problems by collaborating with and supporting young women in local high schools, allowing them to have a safe space to come up with ideas and critical thinking skills.
We aim to do this by hosting competitions with teams of highschoolers, who can utilize practical implementation of science beyond coursework to solve real-world issues. Our members will be mentors and role models for young high schoolers as well as help and volunteer to host events for high schoolers to not only network with but get feedback from professionals in the field. Upon expansion we also hope to host courses and bootcamps for highschoolers to learn practical skills early on and advance their careers.
