SUMMARY:AI 102: Working Effectively With AI
DESCRIPTION:Time: 6 pm to 8 pm\nDate: Wednesday September 16\nLink: http://meet.google.com/mwc-jgar-nbt \nA hands-on introduction to prompt engineering\, context engineering\, and reliable AI workflows. \nIn this session\, students will learn how to move beyond simple prompting and communicate with AI more systematically. We will explore how to define clear goals\, provide useful context\, structure tasks\, set constraints\, control outputs\, and verify AI responses. \nTopics include: \n\nThe fundamentals of prompt engineering\nThe Goal\, Context\, Task\, Constraints\, Output\, Verify framework\nWeak prompts vs. better prompts\nZero-shot and few-shot prompting\nStructured reasoning and task decomposition\nPrompt templates and reusable workflows\nCommon prompting mistakes and how to debug them\nA hands-on AI Research Assistant example\n\nParticipants will work through practical exercises and learn techniques they can immediately apply to studying\, research\, coding\, projects\, and everyday AI use. \nNo advanced AI or programming experience is required.
