We are a competitive dragon boat team that represents New College from the University of Toronto. We strive to provide a safe environment for students to build friendships, engage in a healthy lifestyle, and ultimately develop the self-discipline and perseverance necessary for a successful future.
New Dragons is one of the fastest dragon boat teams in Canada and on the international scale. We consistently dominate the dragon boating scene, and achieved many accomplishments throughout the years. At the 2024 Club Crew World Championships (CCWC) in Ravenna, Italy, we received 6 out of 9 possible gold medals. Most recently, we qualified five crews for CCWC 2026 in Chinese Taipei, bringing home 2 golds and a bronze at Nationals in Montreal. As a team, we are comprised of students from various universities pursuing education at the undergraduate and graduate level. As a family, we help push each other through the struggles of training, school, work, and everything else life throws at us. Our passion keeps us strong and our bond keeps us together.
New Dragons is looking for committed individuals to join us this season to compete in 2026 CCWC in Chinese Taipei. We look for candidates from both inside and outside of the University of Toronto, and we welcome both experienced and beginner paddlers to try out.
