UCDBC is a dragon boat racing club founded on passion, drive, and resilience. As one of the fastest university teams in Canada across the mixed, open, and women’s divisions, we take pride in fostering a welcoming environment that promotes personal growth and development. We welcome athletes of all skill levels and experience—whether you’re a seasoned paddler or brand new to the sport, there’s a place for you at UCDBC. We are committed to training athletes with equal dedication, helping each individual reach their potential while providing a supportive community to build meaningful friendships.

We compete in several regattas during the summer, with our most recent success being the defense of our title as 1st place in the U24 Open division, our 1st gold medal in the U24 Women’s division, and a bronze in the U24 Mixed division at the Canadian National Championships. Additionally, our performance at the international level at the Club Crew World Championships (Ravenna, Italy) earned us 6 out of 9 gold medals across the U24 Open (3/3 gold), Women’s (1/3 gold), and Mixed divisions (2/3 gold), securing our position as the top U24 club in the world.

Looking to get started at the gym? During the school year, we provide trainers to help you get stronger and reach your fitness goals. Beyond training, we host a variety of social events and gatherings, as we highly value team bonding. Outside of the team, we actively promote the sport of dragon boat, organize fundraising events, and encourage fitness within our local community. Our goal is to continue excelling as a top-performing dragon boat team, while helping our athletes become the best version of themselves, both in and out of the boat.
