The University of Toronto Cultural Cooking Club (UofT Cultural Cooking Club) was founded to bring together chefs, bakers, and food enthusiasts (those who LOVE food but don’t want to make it!) across UofT who have a passion for the art of cooking. We hope to develop a diverse and vibrant community of chefs at all levels of cooking expertise, emphasizing the variety of unique tastes belonging to cuisines across the globe. Come join us as we embark on our journey to explore the secrets cooking has to offer!
Each month, events such as online recipes, cooking tutorials, video cooking contests (Cook or Be Cooked!), and trips to cooking festivals located in the heart of Toronto are made to highlight dishes of a select culture.
Cook or Be Cooked! is a seasonal cooking contest where we invite people to sharpen their knives, put on their chef hats, and heat up their pans to create a fun video letting their cooking and editing talents run wild. A dish for a select culture is chosen and short videos demonstrating the cooking process from groceries to final product and everything in between are displayed for all members (food critics) to see! The best videos are picked by you and their creators will win awesome prizes!
