St. George Capital (SGC) is a student-run, not-for-profit investment organization at the University of Toronto. We bridge quantitative and traditional finance by training students through hands-on projects, real-world competitions, and professional exposure. Beyond investing, our Charity Fund channels returns into supporting community initiatives, meaning your work contributes to both financial learning and social impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Support quant trading and research projects, including backtesting strategies and developing models.
  • Analyze macro trends and assess their implications for markets and our fund.
  • Contribute to equity research and factor-based analysis, publishing results for competitions and events.
  • Present findings at flagship SGC events like the Factor Research Competition and professional panels.
  • Help grow the Charity Fund, linking financial analysis with social responsibility.

Who You Are

  • An undergraduate student (1st–5th year) with interest in finance, markets, and research.
  • Background in engineering, commerce, economics, or finance.
  • Comfortable with data-driven problem solving (Python/R experience an asset).
  • Motivated to combine career development with social impact.
